The zombie apocalypse meme keeps reappearing. WP had a piece about the other day linking back to a self proclaimed Foreign policy "exclusive" regarding the Pentagon plan to 'stop the zombie apocalypse' Quoting from FP-
Buried on the military's secret computer network is an unclassified document, obtained by Foreign Policy, called "CONOP 8888." It's a zombie survival plan, a how-to guide for military planners trying to isolate the threat from a menu of the undead -- from chicken zombies to vegetarian zombies and even "evil magic zombies" -- and destroy them.
"This plan fulfills fictional contingency planning guidance tasking for U.S. Strategic Command to develop a comprehensive [plan] to undertake military operations to preserve 'non-zombie' humans from the threats posed by a zombie horde," CONOP 8888's plan summary reads.
"Because zombies pose a threat to all non-zombie human life, [Strategic Command] will be prepared to preserve the sanctity of human life and conduct operations in support of any human population -- including traditional adversaries."
Aaah-Yah! I am not a person who believes that the US military is concerned with preserving the 'sanctity of human life'. Frankly speaking, the military is a massive machine, all gears turning, running and conspiring against the sanctity of human life and all that entails Therefore, this 8888 plan has nothing to do with 'saving' the vast majority of human lifeI suspect this plan has much to do with saving the powers that shouldn't be, from us.As I'm working on this post I get to wondering about those 8's? Why the number 8 four times as the identifying code of this plan? Is this significant? I certainly do not know enough about numbers and their meaning to really get into that subject, I did, however find some curious 8's x 4
