Albert Collins- “The Moon is Full”
For our Soothing the Beast BFP/Music Pick this week, I wanted some blues with a little funk. The song that came to mind first is The Moon is Full. Giving it that blues/funk feel is the late and great American electric blues guitarist and singer Albert Collins. It's cold and dismal up here in the Northeast and it doesn't help ones' mood at all. An Albert Collins performance is just the thing to bring up the mood a few notches...enjoy...DJPJ

Hard to believe this is week 150 of the Soothing the Beast BFP/Jamiol Music Pick. Time flies when you're having fun. This week it's about a little bit of mood, a little jazz and a really nice beat. The song is Stand by Me by DSE aka Deep Sensuous Ensemble from the album Sounds For Your Soul. The silky vocals belong to singer Elina Penttinen ...enjoy...DJPJ.

This week the BFP/Jamiol Music Pick is a cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s hit Simple Man. The band performing the cover is the American hard rock band out of Florida, Shinedown. The Drifters- “There Goes My Baby”
It’s 1959 on the Soothing the Beast BFP/Jamiol Music Pick. The Drifters’ song There Goes My Baby reached number two on the Hot 100 and number one on the Billboard R&B chart. I was only 13 when the song came out and it immediately became one of my favorites. In 2014, it’s still one of my favorites.
