Adam Schiff

AIPAC, ISIS And The U.S. Congress

None of AIPAC's 7 American publications, Defense Digest, Near East Report, Homeland Security Monitor, Energy Monitor, Issue Memo, Israel Connection or Middle East Spotlight discusses ISIS, let alone instructs Congress how to vote on the war with the so-called "Islamic State." In general, if you want to know how AIPAC wants congressmembers to vote just check on what its most slavish adherents do.

Promises, Promises

The American propaganda machine rolls on, superior to the paltry efforts of past American, British, and German public relations machinery. Then, it was enough to sketch terrifying cartoons of Huns or Jews or other ethnicities and fulminate nonsensically about racial purity. No more. We have evolved. Now the deception of the tirelessly distracted masses requires dissimulations of far greater sophistication.

If Henry Waxman Doesn't Stay On His Toes, Marianne Williamson Will Beat Him Next Year

I don't want to demonize Henry Waxman. As congressmen go, he's been a fairly decent one, for the most part, relatively progressive and-- except on issues relating to Israel and the Middle East-- pretty open-minded. The only time I remember really disagreeing with him, in fact, was when he backed Cheney's and Bush's horrific decision to attack Iraq without provocation.

Is Adam Schiff Changing His Tune-- Or Just Playing Smart Politics In A New District That's WAY More Progressive Than He Is?

In 2000, I was especially excited about defeating radical right freshman and impeachment manager, Jim Rogan in the district next door. I didn't know much about the Democratic state senator running against him, Adam Schiff, only that he was a Democrat. I was kind of naive about DC politics back then. The online grassroots model of fundraising Blue America uses hadn't been invented yet and I helped Schiff raise money the old fashioned way.
