Al Masdar News reports…
BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:00 P.M.) – A major confrontation is taking place place between the Israeli and Palestinian forces in the Gaza Strip tonight.
According to a report released by the Israeli military, the confrontation began when members of Hamas fired several rockets towards the Sderot settlement near the Gaza Strip.
Local Palestinian activists reported that the rocket attack was in response to Israel killing a member of Hamas recently.
As a result of this conflict, several airstrikes have been launched by the Israeli Air Force, along with heavy shelling from their ground forces.
In response to the airstrikes and shelling, the Palestinian forces have launched several rockets towards the Israeli settlements, prompting the IDF to activate their missile sirens near the Gaza Strip.
Israel’s Iron Dome system managed to intercept most of the rockets, but some did reach the Israeli settlements, causing material damage to some homes.
More details to come…
