INTERALLIED CONFEDERATION OF RESERVE OFFICERS MEETS IN LILLE
On April 10th to 12th 2014, Rapid Reaction Corps France located in Lille hosted the in-between meeting of the Interallied Confederation of Reserve Officers, commonly referred to by its French acronym CIOR. Founded in 1948, the CIOR is a NATO-affiliated organization that represents the interests of over 1.3 million reservists across 36 participating nations, within and beyond NATO. That makes it the world’s largest military reserve officer organization.
The CIOR has two main roles. The first one is to provide support to the NATO Alliance and advice on reserve issues. In this specific framework, the CIOR directly contributes to NATO’s goals by promoting and enhancing cooperation and interoperability amongst reserve forces within the Alliance and its partners. Its second role is to foster the professional development of reserve officers.
The CIOR meets four times a year, for the summer and winter seminars, but also during the so called ‘in-between’ meetings, such as the one set up in Lille last week. There, members of the CIOR work through committees that examine issues and provide analysis relating to reserve forces.

As an Army HQ and thanks to its special links with NATO, Rapid Reaction Corps France was selected to host this CIOR in-between meeting and show the participants its delightful working conditions within the Queen of the Citadels.
