Telephone conversation with NATO Commander
Chief of the General Staff of Georgian Armed Forces Major-General Vakhtang Kapanadze had a telephone conversation with the Commander of U.S. European Command Philip Breedlove.
During the conversation regional security environment and bilateral defence cooperation issues were discussed. Major-General Vakhtang Kapanadze thanked the American side for its assistance provided for the wounded soldiers` program. The generals also talked over the contribution provided by Georgia in the ISAF mission. Philip Breedlove expressed his gratitude to the Georgian soldiers for their devotion in Afghanistan.
Major-General Vakhtang Kapanadze invited the U.S. General to Georgia. He also agreed to visit Georgia. During the telephone conversation, the generals of both countries decided to discuss the U.S. -Georgian cooperation in military field when their first personal meeting is held.

Telephone Conversation with Senator John McCain
On April 11, telephone conversation was held between Minister of Defence of Georgia Irakli Alasania and the U.S. Senator John McCain. Georgian Defence Minister and the U.S. Senator discussed Georgia’s NATO membership aspirations, regional security and bilateral cooperation issues in defence sphere between the United States of America and Georgia.
As Senator McCain stated, he firmly supports increasing Georgia’s defence capabilities and granting Membership Action Plan (MAP) to Georgia at the upcoming NATO Summit. According to the U.S. Senator, he will do his best to achieve these goals.
