Ukraine and NATO discuss situation in security area and further cooperation

Defense Ministers of NATO member countries and Ukraine will discuss the situation in security area in Ukraine and priority of cooperation in sector of defense.
According to an own UNIAN correspondent in Brussels, in accordance with the words of NATO representative Oana Lungescu, this discussion will take place on Tuesday, in the HQ of the Alliance within a meeting of Defense Ministers of NATO member countries, which will take place on June 3-4.
“I expect that the ministers will discuss the situation in security area in Ukraine, priority for cooperation in sector of defense between Ukraine an NATO, and, taking into consideration that the sitting will take place in several days after presidential elections, I expect that the ministers will congratulate Ukrainian people on carrying out of elections”, said Lungescu.
According to her words, before this sitting there will be a meeting of defense ministers within North Atlantic Council, during which they will speak “about urgent measures on deepening of collective defense, which were taken after the Ukrainian-Russian crisis, and they will also discuss long-term consequences of the Russian aggression against Ukraine”.
