Georgian Military Chief Meets With NATO Military Committee

Meeting with Chairman of NATO Military Committee

Major-General Vakhtang Kapanadze held first meeting with Chairman of Military Committee, General Knud Bartels, as a Chief of General Staff of GAF. At the meeting with Chairman of NATO Military Committee, the sides discussed a wide range of NATO-Georgia relation in detail. As Major-General Vakhtang Kapanadze stated, successful cooperation between NATO and Georgia was outlined at the meeting. Major-General once more emphasized that Georgia is ready to cooperate with NATO actively.
“Georgia as a reliable partner is ready to fulfill its contribution in ISAF operation and take active part in post-ISAF mission,“ stated Chief of General Staff of GAF.
At the meeting with General Knud Bartels, the information that NATO Military Committee will hold visit to Georgia on February 11-12 became publicly known. General Knud Bartels will lead the visit of top military brass of NATO to Georgia.
Chief of General Staff of GAF is continuing visit to Brussels. Major-General Vakhtang Kapanadze is participating in the 170th NATO Chiefs of Defence meeting.
