The President awards U.S. Assistant Secretary of Defense with the Order of Golden Fleece

The President of Georgia met with the U.S. Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological Defense Programs, Mr. Andrew C. Weber today. Giorgi Margvelashvili and the senior U.S. official discussed the defense and nuclear security issues.
Andrew C. Weber thanked Giorgi Margvelashvili for the sacrifice of Georgian soldiers in Kandahar together with U.S. marine-infantry soldiers, also for the support to the ISAF mission and for the partnership in the global efforts against mass destruction weapons and terrorism. President Margvelashvili and the Assistant Secretary Weber have also talked about the achieved success and discussed the prospects for future cooperation.
The Head of the State awarded the U.S. Assistant Secretary of Defense with the Order of the Golden Fleece for his special commitment to establishing U.S.-Georgia cooperation in bio-security sphere, for avoiding the technologies related to the development of biological weapons, spreading pathogens and information; also for his commitment to Georgia`s intensive involvement in the global security and to ensuring radiation security of the country.
