Fred Leutcher ResurrectedHis Life and Times in His Own WordsDiogenes has finally found his man. Fred Leuchter is a lay saint. His fundamental honesty shines like a beacon for all people of good will to see and emulate. He is like Nathanael, a man without guile (John 1:47). Fred was America’s foremost expert on the execution technology used in US prisons. His professional career was effectively ruined after he studied supposed Nazi “gas chambers” in Auschwitz-Birkenau and elsewhere and issued a scientific report stating that no one could have been gassed to death in those facilities. Thanks to Jim Rizoli for following up on this courageous man’s life with this extensive video interview from September 2015. (I hope a transcript will be made available). Mr. Leuchter has prevailed against all odds. For further research:“The Leuchter Reports” on the Alleged Nazi Gas Chambers – Critical Edition. (Many copies are in circulation; this is the corrected, authoritative version edited by German-American scientist Germar Rudolf).Watch online: Trailer for Errol Morris’s Documentary 1999 film, "Mr. Death: The Rise and Fall of Fred A. Leuchter, Jr.” The 91 minute movie itself can be purchased on DVD for a nominal amount at this link. The New York Times called "Mr. Death” — “...the best comedy-horror documentary about the Holocaust ever made.” Michael Hoffman, “Mr. Death: A Revisionist Opportunity” (David Irving’s Action Report, Dec. 29, 1999). This is my review of the movie.Susan Lehman, “A Matter of Engineering: Capital Punishment as an Engineering Problem” (The Atlantic magazine, February, 1990). This article about Leuchter’s work in US prisons designing and advising on execution equipment and technology appeared before the media made him notorious for investigating Nazi facilities. It is therefore reasonably fair and balanced. It demonstrates the extent to which Fred Leuchter was a top expert in the field prior to his persecution.Joseph P. Bellinger, “Fred Leutcher’s ‘Indiscretion” (Inconvenient History, vol. 5, no. 4, 2013). This is a revisionist-friendly report on Fred's rise and decline. It concludes with him having lost his wife and reduced to driving a bus. The good news, as Mr. Rizoli’s YouTube interview informs us, is that Mr. Leutcher is now happily married and in less straitened circumstances.Michael Hoffman, The Great Holocaust Trial: The Landmark Battle for the Right to Doubt the West’s Most Sacred Relic. Softcover, illustrated. 182 pages. This is an account of the two thought crime trials of Ernst Zündel, the German-Canadian dissident who discovered, hired and commissioned Leutcher to travel to Europe, investigate the “chambers" and issue his report.***
