France, Georgia Sign Bilateral Military Cooperation Agreement

Defence Ministries of Georgia and France Signed Bilateral Cooperation Plan
Ministries of Defence of Georgia and the Republic of France signed a bilateral [plan of] cooperation for 2014. Delegation of the French Armed Forces visited Georgia to discuss the prospects of bilateral cooperation in defence sphere.
Today, the representatives of international relations service of the Joint Staff of the French Armed Forces, led by Navy Captain Alexis Willer visited the Ministry of Defence of Georgia. Members of the delegation held meetings with the Deputy Defence Minister Mikheil Darchiashvili, Deputy Chief of General Staff of JS, Col. Vladimer Chachibaia and leadership of Euro-Atlantic Integration Department.
At the meeting the sides discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in defence sphere and strengthening existing cooperation. Regional security issues and challenges Georgia faces, cooperation with NATO and EU, ongoing defence reforms and participation in international operations were also the topics of discussion at the meeting.
