Where are the giant pencils? After all the nonsense spewed over the incident in Paris? Je Suis Canada?CBC:
“Such a move, however, could have a chilling effect on freedom of expression in Canada and would not necessarily contribute to effectively fighting domestic extremism, according to legal experts. The new bill, which could also include provisions for expanded police powers, was promised by the federal governmentKent Roach, a professor at the University of Toronto who specializes in constitutional and terrorism law.“The government has the burden before they introduce new laws to demonstrate why it’s not possible to prosecute these kinds of offences under existing Canadian law,” he says.“There’s a real danger when we make laws in reaction to events with the assumption that those laws will help prevent tragedies from happening again.”
And Canada already has plenty of laws to address real terrorism issues- CBC spinning in a really manipulative fashion- highlighted below
Similarly, stifling speech plays into the narrative promoted by many extremist groups that Western societies are hypocritical to espouse free speech values while repressing contradictory views. (Notice how the CBC framed that ? Extremist groups? That's to manipulate you, the reader, into going along with this because only extremist groups would oppose this. )In essence, says Forcese, these kinds of laws can make "martyrs of ideas" and speech that lie within the definition of protected speech.
It’s not extremists that promote that narrative of so called free governments stifling the natural law rights of humans.. It is people who endorse free speech and free discourse amongst free men that make clear that stifling speech is state sponsored terrorism. PM Harper
“Canada and its allies will not be intimidated and will continue to stand firmly together against terrorists who would threaten the peace, freedom and democracy our countries so dearly value. Canadians stand with France on this dark day.”
It isn't terrorists threatening our freedom or our so called democracy- It is legislation promoted by the state that is a threat to us all!
CBC News reported earlier this month that the new anti-terror legislation will likely include provisions to allow increased information-sharing between federal agencies, currently limited by privacy laws.
Yes, it is the Canadian government- not terrorists- that are threatening our peace, our freedom and our privacy. It is the Canadian government, acting as a terror state, acting as a tyranny, endeavouring to deny the people there basic freedoms Our human right to live our lives in privacy and to speak freely amongst ourselves. The government, that works for us, is proposing legislation which will further erode our collective human freedoms. We have every right as humans to be free from spying, free from government intrusion, free from government interference. Free to speak amongst ourselves. Free from state tyranny. So, what are you going to do about this?If you are so inclined you can sign this- STOP SPYING ON USCall your MP.
