Donald Trump puts on a show for US Senators–China is not amused

The entire US Senate has been to the White House for a classified briefing on the situation in North Korea.
Although none of the parties present are legally allowed to disclose the specific details of what was said, an important factor in judging the nature of the meeting can be derived from reports on the meeting’s length.
The meeting was said to last for 14 minutes. By contrast, the journey from the US Capitol to the White House takes slightly longer.

Trump’s Bluff or The Madness of The Apprentice: 100 Senators prepare for North Korea briefing

Tomorrow’s White House meeting between Donald Trump, Rex Tillerson, James ‘Mad Dog’ Mattis and all 100 Senators could just be the biggest bluff of his Presidency and indeed the biggest bluff of recent US history. Of course it might not be. Both scenarios must be considered even though I lean heavily towards the ‘bluff’ theory.
I wish there was a better phrase for what I imagine this to be than a ‘made for TV Presidency’, but alas that is what it feels like.

Trump summons all 100 Senators to White House for North Korea briefing

In an unusual move by US Presidential standards, Donald Trump has decided to summon all 100 US Senators for a White House briefing on the situation in North Korea. The meeting is to take place on Wednesday. In addition to Trump, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Defence Secretary James ‘Mad Dog’ Mattis will also be present.
While the move is legally unrelated to asking both Houses of Congress to declare a war (something Trump has not yet done), the gesture does imply a further march to confrontation with North Korea.

Sen. Graham to moronic Ukraine foreign minister: Just shut up and we’ll cut you a check (VIDEO)

Russophobia watchers got a real treat on Tuesday. That is, if you manage to maintain a sense of humor about these things.
The ambassadors of Poland, Georgia, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania were joined by the foreign minister of Ukraine, the diminutive dweeb Pavlo Klimkin, for a deluxe crying and whining session. The goal: extract as much money as possible from US taxpayers by licking Washington’s boots.

Senators plan to sabotage Donald Trump by passing Russian sanctions

Whilst US President Obama in the last weeks of his Presidency churns out ever more sanctions against Russia, a group of 10 US Senators including five Republicans is said to be preparing to codify some of Obama’s Ukraine related sanctions into law.
Obama’s sanctions were made by Executive Order so without a formal law passed by Congress Trump as President can simply cancel them with the stroke of a pen.

Sen. Sessions Takes A Bold Step: Tells The Truth About TPP

Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) is one of the few members of Congress who has taken the time to jump through the hoops and read the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). But, he has gone a step farther than other members – he told members of Congress what he read. He told the truth about what the TPP says and why Congress should oppose it in a five page letter to his colleagues.
