Glenn Simpson, the founder of Fusion GPS, the company that created the discredited 'dirty dossier' against Trump, sought to smear him as a candidate by trying to link him to convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein. Journalist, Ken Silverstein, wrote the 'hit piece' for VICE magazine​ but was unable to provide any evidence other than that Trump and Epstein knew each other. Silverstein admitted that Fusion GPS intelligence is not known for accuracy. Silverstein may have been paid to write the hit piece.

A new lawsuit alleges the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign violated campaign finance law by failing to report that they paid for the dossier used to smear Trump. Hiding these payments from the public record is a violation of federal law. [...]
