Ahead of Texas Muslim Capitol Day scheduled for later this month, freshman state Rep. Kyle Biedermann, R-Fredericksburg, sent a letter to mosque leaders and Muslim student associations across the state asking them to fill out a poll about their beliefs.

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Hate crimes are up, and U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) is trying to have $5 million more added to an end-of-the-year federal funding bill.

Three California mosques received a hand-written letter calling Muslims “vile and filthy”, praising president-elect Donald Trump and saying he plans to “cleanse” America, an association of Muslim-Americans said Sunday.

There is a fine line between freedom of expression and incitement to religious, racial or cultural hatred, but Charlie Hebdo has strayed some way over the wrong side of that divide.
