All summer, the polls Marist did for NPR-- there have been 4 so far-- have shown Trump's disapproval rating between 54 and 58%. Their newest poll has his approval at 39%-- and among Independent registered voters his approval is just 32% and his disapproval among this key cohort is 57%.
On Friday, Elizabeth Warren released a list of congressional candidates she had just endorsed. The list included progressive champions like Jamaal Bowman (NY), Mike Siegel (TX), Charles Booker (KY) and Julie Oliver (TX). I'm sure all of them are overjoyed at her backing-- even if it's a little late in the game for Bowman and Booker, whose primaries are tomorrow.
This week, Reuters released a new Ipsos poll showing that 72% of registered voters want to see witnesses-- such as John Bolton and Mike Pompeo-- testify in Trump's impeachment trial-- and that includes 69% of Republican voters.
The newest-- I guess-- #NeverTrumpster conservative group is the Lincoln Project, basically George Conway, Rick Wilson, Steve Schmidt, Reed Galen, Jennifer Horn, Mike Madrid, Ron Steslow, John Weaver, Sally Canfield, Chip Felkel, Molly Jong-Fast, Sophia Nelson, Tom Nichols, Tara Setmayer, and Chris Vance. They call themselves "advisors" to the Lincoln Project. And they define their mission as defeating Trump and Trumpism at the ballot box. "We do not undertake this task lightly nor from ideological preference," they wrote. "Our many policy differences with national Democrats remain.
Technically, the call for an official impeachment inquiry into Trump's treason is bipartisan, since ex-Republican Jason Amash (I-MI) is adamantly in favor of it.

The elephant in the room is that former Governor Frackenlooper has just dropped out of his dismally failed presidential run and-- encouraged by Chuck Schumer-- is about to announce for the Senate seat, into which he expects to waltz.
Yesterday, Trump contradicted the NRA and congressional Republicans by claiming his party is coming around on background checks. It was an "optimistic assessment, based on nothing but... empty election strategy.
