Congestion

The MTA voted to approve 'congestion pricing', a tax that will charge vehicles for entering a large swath of Manhattan in the central business district. Passenger vehicles would be charged $15, trucks would be charged up to $36 depending on size, and motorcycles would be charged $7.50.

Picture it: You’re stuck in traffic on a two-lane highway, and the lanes converge into one up ahead. You merged early. You're patiently waiting your turn when some jerk zooms by, goes all the way to where lane ends, and merges in 15 cars ahead of you. That person is infuriating. But also they're improving efficiency for everyone.
