A Robust Balance

By Willis Eschenbach | Watts Up With That? | October 3, 2021 Albedo is the percentage of incident light that is reflected by an object. For years, I’ve read claims that the loss of Arctic sea ice is a positive feedback. It is logical—warming leads to less ice, less ice reduces the surface albedo; reduced […]

Russian icebreaker fleet is the pride of the Arctic [Video]

The US Navy is widely known in the world as the largest and finest in the world. However, aside from submarines, the Navy cannot do much in the Arctic. The Arctic has, of course, icecaps, and any ship that would sail the Arctic Ocean must be able to negotiate pack ice up to and exceeding 6.4 meters (21 feet) thick at times. If it cannot do this, its path must be opened by an icebreaker, a ship capable of breaking through such ice.

One of the Great Modern Hoaxes of the 20th and 21st centuries has got to be the notion of Global Warming.  This is the meteorological phenomenon that happens when too many politicians talk about ways to take your money at once.  All that exhaled carbon dioxide has been classified by the EPA as a ‘pollutant’ and so the political figures who go on and on about this impending doom are really creating it by the act of opening their mouths and speaking about it.

Arctic Sea Ice in Steep Decline

For years now prominent scientists have warned of the dangers of global warming and a concomitant tipping point for the Arctic. Because of abnormal heat, things are not looking good. Arctic sea ice is in a vertical free-fall. But, the melt season only just started!
This makes Obama’s call for regulation of coal-burning power plants look like a fanciful ephemeral wish list, too little, too late.
