NAFTA is 20

I was thrilled this week when Guy Cecil and Michael Bennet got on board and gave the Shenna Bellows campaign the DSCC's big thumbs up. Hopefully, that will be the beginning of the end for fake moderate Susan Collins in Maine. So, RIGHT ON GUY CECIL and RIGHT ON Michael Bennet. I will refrain from any gratuitously nasty statements about the two of them for at least… well, I hope forever. Next up: South Dakota prairie populist Rick Weiland.

Christmas Was Yesterday-- But It's Never Too Late For These Words Of Warning From The AFL-CIO

The New York State AFL-CIO did the above video in regard to their own state. But there isn't a state in the Union that it doesn't apply to. Where is this not relevant: "We need to start looking at things from the perspective of the workers who call our state home, not the corporations who call Ne York their tax break layover." And they offer solutions that aren't in the forefront of politicians who cater to the 1%-- the entire Republican Party and the whole Republican wing of the Democratic Party-- Blue Dogs, New Dems, Third Wayers, et al.

Instead of Church This Morning...

We first wrote about Damon Silvers, the AFL-CIO's director of policy, on Friday. I had never heard of him before. But I liked what he said about holding Blue Dogs, New Dems and other conservative quasi-Democrats accountable for voting with the Republicans against the interests of seniors and working class Americans. Apparently CNBC noticed him to an invited him on for a dressing down. A conservative class warrior from Britain wound up getting his nose rubbed in his own shit.

Will The AFL-CIO Really Support Primaries Against Democrats Who Try To Help Obama And Boehner Cut Social Security Benefits?

Progressives like Pennsylvania state Senator Daylin Leach, who's running for the open PA-13 congressional seat, is never going to sell out Social Security, Medicare or any social insurance policies for middle and working-class American families. In fact, his record in the legislature makes it clear that he will fight to expand and strengthen them. Watch his new video above-- and then consider helping him win his crowded primary against a bunch of conservative Democrats.

Elizabeth Warren To AFL-CIO: "If We Don't Fight, We Can't Win, But If We Fight We WILL Win"

Although Obama canceled his appearance at the AFL-CIO convention in L.A. this week so he could work on strategy for persuading America that war against Syria is the right move, the convention rocked without him-- by what many pray is a future president, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren. She urged union activists that they need to strengthen their movement to beat back the enemies of working families. Here's the body of her address:
