2016 congressional races

A new poll from AP/GfK indicates that 33% of Americans would feel afraid if Trump gets elected and 25% would feel afraid if Hillary gets elected. The worse news is that 23% say they will feel afraid if either of these two awful candidates gets elected.

I'm guessing few Bernie supporters will dance to the siren calls of the orange-faced racist, xenophobic, misogynystic sociopath no matter how many times he waves an anti-TPP banner at them.

There are several crucial congressional primaries left, particularly in Florida at the very end of August. Two of the hottest are Grayson's Senate run against spoiled and soiled Patrick Murphy and Tim Canova's against as-bad-as-Murphy degenerate #DebtTrapDebbie Wasserman Schultz. Both are on August 30.

As we've seen in California, there are real drawbacks to mandatory legislative term limits, not the least of which is how even more power devolves to lobbyists, something that has made Sacramento virtually worthless as a vehicle for progressivism, despite huge Democratic majorities. But Congress is so hated by the American people-- and rightfully so-- that term limits is supported overwhelmingly.

It wasn't that many years ago that there were enough NRA Democrats in the House-- like John Barrow for example-- to help the Republicans pass all the most heinous gun legislation the NRA was looking for.

There's still hope for the Democratic PartyMost states have already picked their congressional candidates for November and July is a time-out for primaries BUT there are still 19 states with congressional primaries coming up in August and September. And some of them are extremely important. In only one instance-- Delaware-- is it still possible to file to run. The state, which votes on September 13 has a filing deadline next week-- July 12.

Bernie's political revolution has a long way to go in developing a way to effectively impart a revolutionary consciousness, even among people who consider themselves among his devoted followers.
