It was just a week ago that the Internet exploded with confused-anger after a photograph of peeled oranges packaged in plastic on the shelves of a Whole Foods store was posted on Twitter. Whole Foods, which fancies itself a sustainable and environmentally friendly company, quickly pulled the fruit from its shelves after enduring thousands of complaints about the oranges’ “wasteful” packaging.
Plastic containers containing peeled oranges have people absolutely furious.

A Newton, Iowa, dairy has temporarily closed after a massive recall of its products due to the presence of listeria.
On Tuesday, Whole Foods announced that it was recalling Maytag Raw Milk Blue Cheese produced at Maytag Dairy Farm because, it said, it could be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, though no illnesses had been reported.
Liz Burkhart, a spokeswoman for Whole Foods, who added that the recall was issued “out of an abundance of caution.” She told CNBC:
“Your parmesan cheese products do not contain any parmesan,” stated one of several FDA warnings.

Whole Foods is hoping to lure consumers to its stores that may have eschewed its products due to high prices. The company says it will start offering deep discounts on produce, meat, seafood and other items in an attempt to recover from a number of financial hits it suffered this year.
