Sunday morning everyone who loves making fun of Señor Trumpanzee's Adderall-fueled tweet storms, had a field day. The one above was a sensation-- at least among those who enjoy mocking the imbecile Putin helped install in the White House. Did anyone imagine Trump's excursion to Hamburg and his opportunity to pay homage to the Russian dictator in person wouldn't be a farce?
It's been reaffirming seeing Secretary of State after Secretary of State-- and not just from normal states but from deep red states like Mississippi and Louisiana-- standing up to Trump and pet fascist anti-democracy activist Kris Kobach and telling them to go jump into the Gulf of Mexico. The Trumpists want the voter roles and the Secretaries are protecting them from him and Kobach.

PHOENIX — An Arizona Republican lawmaker wants to prohibit college students from voting where they attend school, claiming they “dilute the votes” of year-round residents.
State Rep. Bob Thorpe, R-Flagstaff, is chairman of the Arizona House Government and Higher Education Committee.
He said in a statement:
In 2008, when Obama faced off against John McCain, turnout for an American presidential election was relatively high-- 63.7%. This past year it fell to 55%. France's voter turnout ion their presidential election earlier this month was also down-- to around 65%. Yesterday Iran voted. The voter turnout was around 70%, higher than turnout in any US election since 1900. Why is that? Well there could be a number of reasons-- some existential, but in Iran Election Day is a national holiday; people get off work to vote.
Yesterday Trumped signed one of his cockamamie executive orders-- ruling by decree-- that establishes a commission to investigate his baseless claims of alleged voter fraud. Worse yet, crackpot Kansas racist and xenophobe Kris Kobach has already been telling people that Trump picked him to head the commission (although he's actually doing it as vice-chair under Pence).
I guess eventually Trump will stand in front of bit and pieces of border wall and claim he built it. I maybe Congress will feel sorry for him and toss him a few dollars to build a little piece of wall himself. Other than that-- despite what the neo-Nazis claim-- that wall ain't happening. A few days ago Sessions was in Nogales, a border town in Raúl Grijalva's district.

Even as he was assembling and deploying an American kakistocracy and calling it his administration, there were people of goodwill urging everyone to just wait and be open-minded and see if Trump didn't turn out to be an OK president. "After all," one of that tribe told me several times, "he was a liberal Democrat most of his life." Nah...
