In order to make you aware that there are a growing number of doctors in Europe who feel that Lockdown has been an unmitigated disaster, I have downloaded an open Letter from doctors in Belgium. It can be seen here.
Doctors in other countries e.g. Germany have done much the same thing. I am putting this on my blog so that as many people as possible read it.
The Financial Times ran a piece on September 10th about the doctor in Sweden who charted that country’s course through the COVID-19 pandemic without shutting the country down. These days, of course, the coronavirus narrative has been more like The Boy Who Cried “Wolf!”, but rerun so many times nobody knows what to believe anymore if they start to actually try to sift through the massive amounts of conflicting data the news media feeds its consumers. To be totally honest, we cannot determine if what you are about to read is any different, but it does seem best to offer it for personal study and analysis.
On Tuesday I gave an English lesson, really in the form of practice and conversation, with a student who has become a friend as well. This student is older than I and the work the student does is quite prominent – as an example, our lesson was periodically interrupted by messages from or regarding high ranking government officials.
