CDC Issues 2 Major Zika Advisories for Men and Women

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) issued new warnings recently aimed at both men and women for avoiding transmission of the Zika virus. [1]
On September 30 the CDC said, among other things, that pregnant women should consider postponing travel to 11 Southeast Asian countries where Zika is spreading, and shored up its warnings for men who are considering having children.

And although most of the sketches show their lives in a positive light, Wiklund recently put pencil to paper to capture one of the harder moments the couple had to face: their miscarriage.
Titled simply, “Miscarriage,” the heart-breaking drawing shows the aftermath of the couple finding out that their expected pregnancy had come to an end.

Cop Trying to Show Kids “Policemen are Good” Accused of Impregnating 14-Year-Old

(ANTIMEDIA)  Lowell, NC — A Lowell, North Carolina cop has been accused of impregnating a 14-year-old girl he volunteered to mentor.
WSOCTV reported the ordeal began when Officer James Blair offered to mentor two children — the now impregnated teen, who had previously run away, and her sibling. The girl’s mother says he told her he wanted to take a role in their lives “To show them, ‘Hey, policemen are good.’”

Despite the United Nations Millennium Development Goal of reducing the rate of maternal death by 75% by 2015, the maternal death rate has risen alarmingly over the past several years across the United States. This is according to new research published in Obstetrics & Gynecology.

Michigan woman Lori Cichewicz is suing her doctor for “wrongful conception,” claiming compensation for the stress caused by an unplanned pregnancy.
Cichewicz expected to undergo a procedure to permanently shut off her ability to get pregnant in 2008 after her doctor told her that if she ever were to get pregnant, she would have a child with Down syndrome.
