The Senate impeachment trial of President Trump is hinging on  U.S. foreign aid to Ukraine. The Democratic House impeachment managers flogged the details of that aid so hard that even policy junkies are ready for cry for mercy.

The US State Department, which is under the control of the the President, announced $10.6 billion from American taxpayers to be given to Central America and southern Mexico to make life sufficiently better in those countries so that no one will want to migrate to the US.

According to an article in the Israeli newspaper, Haaretz, Israel helped create and promote that UN agency because it relieved the Israel of the financial burden of the refugees. Trump's decision may restore that obligation to Israel. [...]
