A Baton Rouge police officer was cleared of any wrongdoing for striking a restrained 16-year-old boy several times in the head at the city’s annual Earth Day event in an incident caught on video last April.
The department found there was “insufficient evidence” to support a complaint against Sergeant Todd Bourgoyne in the beating of Ja’Colby Davis, according to the Baton Rouge Advocate.
Videos of a Massachusetts police detective threatening to beat, murder and plant drugs on two teenagers, then cover it all up — videos which prosecutors sought to keep secret — have been released, thanks to The Republican newspaper.

Now that Comply or Die has become the standard with American police, Illinois will begin teaching high school students how to conduct themselves during traffic stops to keep from being killed.
The mandatory training will go effect for the 2017 school year after it was signed into law by Governor Bruce Rauner Friday.
The new measure states that students will now be taught “a demonstration of the proper actions to be taken during a traffic stop and appropriate interactions with law enforcement.”

Baltimore police shot a 13-year-old boy with a “replica” gun Wednesday, even though it appears that he did not point it at them.
All we know now is that two detectives in an unmarked car spotted the boy with the gun and started chasing him before they shot him, according to the Baltimore Sun.
In the usual display of crass and arrogance we have come to expect from police union leaders, the president of the Cleveland police union sent a letter to the media today, stating that Tamir Rice’s family should donate a proceed of their settlement to educate kids about the dangers of playing with toy guns to keep them from being killed by police.
The $6 million settlement, announced earlier today, means that police will never have to admit to any wrongdoing.
A South Carolina sheriff’s deputy was caught on video yanking a female student from her desk by her neck and throwing her on the floor, dragging her several feet before pouncing on her, telling her to “put your hands behind your back.”
All because the girl was being “verbally disruptive.”
Another student who recorded the arrest was also arrested.
