by NoahWELCOME TO FLAG DAYWhether or not Robert Mueller's investigation finds slam-dunk proof that Trump and his team colluded with Putin, and whether or not Trump actually does go down, the fact will remain, apart from all of the blather, that Donald J. Trump is Vladimir Putin's #1 intelligence asset. At this point, we don't need any arm of the criminal justice system or any investigators to tell us what we can see every day. Enough of Trump's actions, be it his stated desire to do away with NATO, which Putin sees as an obstacle to Russian expansion, his request to have Russia added to the G-7, or his refusal to continue to ally us with the G-7 itself. Then there is also the already evidenced attempt at collusion in the infamous Trump Tower meeting held by Donald Trump, Jr., and, Trump's passing of classified information damaging to Israel's intelligence and national security efforts, to Putin's chief spymaster at a meeting that was, incredibly, held openly right in the oval office itself.Although it would be great to get the fine details, and, ideally, they will be provided, although I'm not going to hold my breath on that one, we also don't need a bunch of lawyers, judges, and investigators to give us any more evidence that tells us that what's left of our democracy was attacked by Russia in an act of war, cyber war, that upended the 2016 election. And, we certainly don't need anyone to tell us that Trump has denied that fact, done nothing to address that fact, and neither has the republican-led United States Senate or the House of so-called Representatives. The blatant inaction on those matters alone is damning proof of whose side the Republican Party and their president are on, and it is not that of the United States. Already, we have seen that Russia made what were, at the least, attempts to get into our computer systems that held voter registration information. Would it surprise anyone if, maybe 30 years from now, we find out that Russia actually hacked voting machines themselves? Even if they didn't, you know they will try, and they will eventually succeed, if not this year, then in 2020 and beyond. This, too, is apparently perfectly OK with the traitorous likes of Donald Trump, Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell and their traitorous henchmen in Congress and in the media.Just last week, we heard that Trump and Putin converse by phone frequently; agent and handler, or, coach and quarterback? The lack of action on these threats to our country and way of life should not be pinned solely on republicans. Back before the 2016 election, wussy, prim and proper President Obama did brief Mitch McConnell on what our intelligence community already knew about Russia's efforts at that time. McConnell the Treason Turtle sold out his alleged country and buried the information. Obama, of course, should have gone on national television and spilled the beans but he was afraid that that would be seen as an attempt to influence the election in favor of Hillary Clinton. Instead, he chose to let Russia influence the election in favor of their candidate. That's a prime example of taking that "When they go low, we go high" thing way too far. Regardless, though, Obama did follow accepted protocol and McConnell did not. McConnell showed his true colors and they aren't exactly red, white, and blue, are they? So, welcome to Flag Day, June 14, 2018. Today, republicans all across this country will have added the Russian flag to the Confederate flag that they already cherish. One is the flag of 19th century traitors. The other is the flag of 21st century traitors who continue to serve Vladimir Putin's wish list.Republicans, you own your treason just as you own your racism, your misogyny, your homophobia, your tax scams, your pro-cancer environmental policies paid for with bribes stuffed into your extra large pockets, your support of child molesters, your disdain for those who protest against police brutality right up to and including murder, and so much else. No wonder you cheer for a president who can't even sing "God Bless America" or "The National Anthem."
