[Apparently, 'deficits don't matter' when it comes to funding death squads all over the world who kill those who dare to rise up against corporate locusts who want to seize nations' water and oil. 28 May 2014 United States Special Operations troops are forming elite counterterrorism units in four countries in North and West Africa. The secretive program, financed in part with millions of dollars in classified Pentagon spending and carried out by trainers, including members of the Army’s Green Berets and Delta Force, was begun last year to instruct and equip hundreds of handpicked commandos [death squads] in Libya, Niger, Mauritania and Mali…For the aborted training outside Tripoli, the Defense Department also tapped into a classified spending account called Section 1208, devised to aid foreign troops assisting American forces conducting counterterrorism missions.
Libya: U.S. dispatches 1,000 Marines to Libya’s coast as fighting escalates

That warning came as the leader of Ansar al Shariah, the militant group, warned that if the United States got involved in the brewing civil war, it would face a fight “much worse” than Iraq and Afghanistan…Earlier this month, the U.S. military moved 200 Marines to Sicily in case of an evacuation, U.S. officials told McClatchy.

They said Obama has not yet given final approval for the initiative and said there is still internal discussion about its merits and potential risks.

27 May 2014 President Barack Obama will announce Tuesday that he wants to keep 9,800 military personnel in Afghanistan after the American combat mission ends there this year, a senior administration official told NBC News. That figure would be cut in half by the end of 2015, and the American contingent would be reduced to “a normal Embassy presence” by the end of 2016, as Obama is close to leaving office, the administration official said.
Ukraine: Canadian Armed Forces conducts an Open Skies observation flight over Ukraine
28 May 2014 Twenty-two Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) personnel, using a Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) CC130J Hercules aircraft, will be conducting an aerial observation mission over Ukraine under the Treaty on Open Skies tomorrow. Using an array of imagery systems, the CC130J can observe and verify objects of interest, such as military installations, industrial complexes, population centres and transportation facilities. The CAF team will be conducting this observation flight jointly with the United States with participation from France and Estonia.
Joint Israeli-US pig snout sniffing for evermore DOD funds: Israel Agrees to Spend Half of Pentagon-Provided Iron Dome Funds in U.S.
28 May 2014 The Israeli government has agreed to spend more than half the funds the Pentagon provides for its Iron Dome system in the U.S., bolstering the political appeal of the missile-defense system in America. Funds going to U.S. contractors for components of the Israeli-built, Pentagon-funded system will jump to 30 percent this year and 55 percent next year from 3 percent previously, according to a U.S. Missile Defense Agency report to Congress obtained by Bloomberg News. That amounts to at least $97 million of $176 million requested by the Defense Department for the coming fiscal year.
