Unfair Facebook Censorship targets Conspiracy Watch and Similar Pages

This is actually an update, since this article was originally published on Mar 10, 2014, however seeing that we’ve been censored again since then, I felt it important to not only share the new developments against freedom of speech and freedom of the press, but also to inform those of you who missed the original release of this story the first time around, of what has been happening in the Land of The Free.
Since I founded Conspiracy Watch over a year ago, we’ve posted our share of controversial, even questionable posts, but it seems like the ones that always got us in trouble were the harmless ones. I have posted some of the posts/picks that were removed by Facebook and got us in trouble, including a couple of admin suspensions. Lets see if you agree with Facebook, that these posts were too hard-core for a conspiracy page…

This was the latest post to get us in trouble. Yes, this post was not only removed by Facebook, they gave us a stern warning to be a good little page!

Apparently primitive tribes aren’t allowed on Facebook! At least their pictures aren’t! This meme was posted twice and twice the poster was suspended. The only reason it was posted a second time, was because the poster thought Facebook had made a mistake and had somehow censored it out of false pretext. The reason for the censorship was that the pic was “sexually explicit”! Do you think this pic is in any way, shape or form indecent?

Alright, though I still think it’s harmless, this is perhaps the only pic that was rightfully censored by Facebook according to their Posting Guidelines. I’ll submit to this, though still under protest.

AUG 9, 2012 several panicked drivers made 911 calls after seeing what they thought was a real man hanging from a noose along a Las Vegas interstate. Officials said that the man hanging in a black suit and tie under the billboard along Interstate 15 (Nevada) is a mannequin. The black billboard features the words “Dying for Work” in white lettering stretched above the mannequin. A second billboard and mannequin were found int he area, reading: “Hope you’re happy Wall St.’
Though the mannequins were part of a publicity stunt because of a billboard that had been vandalized, I liked the message, “Dying to Work”, which is a real issue in this country these days.
The following is perhaps the most hard-core of our censored posts to date, however it still does not violate any Facebook Guidelines I could find, neither is it sexually explicit, promote violence or criminal behavior. Its only offense is being critical of our President.

This meme was posted twice. The first time it didn’t cause any trouble, actually getting 677 likes and 377 shares (which was a lot back then, as CW was still a much smaller Page). The second time I posted it it was removed by Facebook and the admin who posted it got suspended for 24 hours.
What is a conspiracy page without a little shock value?
There you have it. There were a few more (one was about a steel beam that was cut-off, not molten away or blown up at the 9/11 site), but I don’t have the pics handy. I will update this article when I find them.
So do you believe Facebook was justified in censoring these posts, by not only taking them down, but by also suspending the person who posted them?
As bad as the above sounds, that is just the beginning of the story. Facebook isn’t the only one censoring our Internet. Google reports record spike in government requests to remove content! Yes, our government made a record number of requests for Google to remove political content in the last half of 2012, the search giant said recently.
The number of official requests for content to be removed jumped 26% in the final six months of 2012 compared to the start of the year, according to the latest Google Transparency Report, receiving 2,285 government requests to remove 24,179 pieces of content!
Most of the requests were made to pull videos from YouTube, delete blog posts on Google’s Blogger service and to remove items from Google search, making them harder to find.
But it gets worse, as YouTube Shuts Down Major Alternative Media Channel Days After Government Given Powers to Flag “Extremist Content” and YouTube Allows Users to Flag Content as Terror Promotion! For those of you who think this is no big deal, I assure you this is just the beginning, considering our government has been trying to shut up dissidents like Alex Jones and his InfoWars, even me and my Conspiracy Watch for quite some time. Now they are applying pressure on Google, Facebook and other social media sites, as well as blog hosts to censor, possibly even shut down patriot pages and sites, which they label as domestic terrorist propaganda outlets.
America is looking more like Russia every day. Its bad enough to have cops dressed in black that look like commandos patrolling our streets and laws in place that can put people in jail without due process, indefinitely… now they want to stop the flow of information and the cries for freedom, justice and equality!
If you have had any posts censored or know of any pages that had their posts censored, we would like your feedback. If you can point us to the censored post/pic with a link in the comments, we would really appreciate it.
Lets really get some comments on this! Lets let Facebook, YouTube and our government know that we don’t appreciate the censorship. After all, this is America, not quite Russia, China or Cuba… yet!
