FDA Shortened Approval Process for Risky Gene-Edited Beef Cattle Resistant To Heat

The FDA made a “low-risk determination” for food products made from gene edited CRISPR beef cattle after their review claimed that the genomic alteration didn’t cause any safety concerns. This means that the developer of the gene-edited cattle doesn't need to earn further approval before bringing the beef to market.
