Watch the video above, where Steve Kornacki veers ever so slightly away from MSNBC's usual soft ball treatment of Establishment Democrats and freaks out DNC chair, #DebtTrapDebbie Wasserman Schultz, who promptly goes into zombie mode. The corrupt South Florida politician has never had a real electoral contest before and is petrified to debate Tim Canova, an economic policy expert driven by values and a policy agenda premised on helping ordinary working families, not by an agenda based on careerism like Wasserman Schultz's own.As Michael Sainato reported for The Observer last week, Wasserman Schultz's corrupt approach to politics has given the Democratic Establishment-- not exactly a refuge for angels itself-- a bad name, pointing of that she is now widely recognized as being "emblematic of the role big money plays in politics" and noting that "a wave of resentful backlash over corrupt party politics has linked her to everything that is wrong with establishment practices. Her poor leadership and lack of impartiality as chair of the Democratic National Committee has disenfranchised millions of Democrats around the country, and has inspired thousands of progressive Independents to support Senator Bernie Sanders for president-- no matter what."The Democrats are currently trying to fundraise off Denny Hastert's exposure as a serial child-molester, ostensibly demanding that Republicans who have taken money from the disgraced Hastert disgorge the tens of thousands of dollars they have accepted from the ex-Speaker. Paul Ryan refused, saying that ""Those contributions came in and were spent many years ago," while other Republicans have gone along with the DCCC charade. Perhaps Republicans should ask why corrupt Democrats like Wasserman Schultz, as well as cronies of hers like Patrick Murphy, Alcee Hastings and Charlie Crist don't donate the hundreds of thousands of dollars they've taken from Saudi Arabia's notorious Al-Rashid family. The father of convicted wife beater, Ibrahim Al-Rashid is a close advisor to the king of Saudi Arabia and wealthier and far more influential than the bin-Laden family. His sons here in America are buying influence from corrupt politicians like Wasserman Schultz and Patrick Murphy.Aside from maxing out-- and illegally giving other people money to max out-- to characters like Murphy and Wasserman Schultz, Ibrahim gave Murphy's SuperPAC $100,000, money likely to have come directly from Saudi Arabia (to help someone sitting on the House Intelligence Committee). Murphy donated $16,000 in direct contributions from Al-Rashid to charity but no one wants to discuss the $100,000 to Murphy's shady SuperPAC. what makes this even uglier and more bizarre is that the woman Al-Rashid was convicted of brutally beating was Patrick Murphy's campaign finance director, Morgan, Al-Rashid's ex-wife. Meanwhile Wasserman Schultz refuses to disgorge any of the several thousand dollars Al-Rashid gave her. It's worth noting that he also gave crooks like Steve Israel, Harry Reid, Ami Bera, and Joe Garcia thousands of dollars and none of them want to donate the money to charity either. A little hypocrisy playing out there? You can help Alan Grayson defeat Patrick Murphy and help Tim Canova defeat Wasserman Schultz on this Act Blue page that the thermometer below leads to:
