Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has confirmed that President Xi Jinping will visit Russia and meet President Vladimir Putin to take their strategic ties to a “new stage”.
The two leaders and BRICS allies have met several times in the past year and share a very close view of world affairs. Both are strong proponents of multilateralism and both have opposed the US policy of isolationism.

Kurz and Putin opened a historic painting exhibition dedicated to relations between the two countries in the city’s prestigious Hermitage museum, before proceeding to talks.
The delegations present at the meeting between the two leaders include the head of Russia’s Gazprom and Austria’s OMV.

Abe, Putin discuss upgrading economic activity on Kurils

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Saturday that finalizing a peace treaty with Japan would be in the best interests of both countries.
His statement came shortly after meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe who is in St Petersburg. Russia to attend the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) but flew to Moscow to meet with the Russian president.

Ruptly reports that US diplomats were seen leaving their consulate in St. Petersburg at the request of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday.
One of the supposed staffers at the consulate was caught on camera making an odious gesture at journalists filming the scene.
