BeBe & CeCe Winans – “I’ll Take You There”

Aretha Franklin – “I Say a Little Prayer”
I went over the list of music we’ve listened to on the Soothing the Beast BFP/Jamiol Music Pick over the past 86 weeks and noticed one glaring omission and tonight we rectify that by featuring the legendary High Priestess of Soul Aretha Franklin singing I Say a Little Prayer. This is a great video too. It has some terrific shots of Aretha…enjoy…DJPJ

Soft Lipa- “Winter Sweet”

This will be the second appearance of Taiwanese underground rapper Soft Lipa on the BFP/Jamiol Soothing the Beast Music Pick. This time around the song is Winter Sweet. I love this Hip Hop with jazz undertones and there is nothing better to “sooth the beast” than the low-key beats of this talented rapper. So kick off the shoes, grab that drink and listen up to the Hip Hop/Jazz of Soft Lipa…Enjoy…DJPJ

Al Green – “Love & Happiness”

Tonight’s Soothing the Beast BFP/Jamiol Music Pick is all about soul with one of the great soul singers Al Green (now known as the Reverend Al Green) singing his 1972 hit Love and Happiness. So ease up the sound, sit back and enjoy the most popular and influential soul singer of the 70′s…enjoy…DJPJ

Big Mama Thornton- “Born Under A Bad Sign”

This week’s Soothing the Beast BFP/Jamiol Music Pick is all about the
blues with American blues artist Big Mama Thornton performing Born Under
Bad Sign. The lyrics to “Born Under a Bad Sign” were written by Stax
Records rhythm and blues singer William Bell, with music by Stax
bandleader Booker T. Jones. It was first recorded by blues singer and
guitarist Albert King. Thornton’s cover imho is one of if not the best.
So it’s the blues with tonight with Big Mama…enjoy…DJPJ.
