Though the battle against ISIS for Mosul – Iraq’s second city – has taken much longer than most people expected, it appears that the battle for Mosul may be finally drawing to an end.
News yesterday spoke of significant advances by the Iraqi army in western Mosul, with the Iraqi army finally reaching Mosul’s Old City, which however is still controlled by ISIS. More reports today speak of Iraqi troops entering Mosul’s Old City, and capturing an area in its northern part.
Bitcoin: In 2011, I went all-in into bitcoin. As I described in a blog post at the time, I took all my savings and my entire credit line and put it into the fledgling currency, once I had realized its disruptiveness, and I did so at about $3 valuation (to simplify events a bit). People mocked me relentlessly.

By Neil Clark | RT | June 11, 2017 Labour’s stunning performance in last week’s UK general election, which saw the party deny the Tories a majority and gain its largest increase in vote share since 1945, has left the country’s Elite Punditocracy in a state of deep shock. The neocon/neoliberal Establishment thought their non-stop […]

The shocking election result in the United Kingdom – the Conservatives losing their majority and the creation of a hung Parliament; and Jeremy Corbyn being more successful than any recent Labor candidate – cutting a 20 point Theresa May lead down to a near tie – gives hope to many that the global shift to the right, fueled by the failures of governments to meet the basic needs of their population and growing economic insecurity, may be ending.
In the wake of London and Manchester, politicians around the world are trying to convince the public that the free flow of information on the internet is a terror threat. In reality, independent online media are exposing the real terrorists: the politicians and their deep state handlers who are funding, arming, aiding and enabling false flag terror. This is the GRTV Backgrounder on GlobalResearch.ca
Higher interest rates will triple the interest on the federal debt to $830 billion annually by 2026, will hurt workers and young voters, and could bankrupt over 20% of US corporations, according to the IMF. The move is not necessary to counteract inflation and shows that the Fed is operating from the wrong model. Responding […]
“The real danger lies in whether the Christian world loses the last early Christians… the last ancient souls of the earth.” Such is the dire prediction by one writer regarding the ongoing exodus of Arab Christians from the Middle East – an exodus triggered by Western neo-colonialism and Zionist expansion that suits the military-industrial complex. RT | June 11, 2017 The UN Palestinian relief agency “perpetuates” the refugee issue instead of solving it and should be “dismantled,” the Israeli PM stated, adding that he had conveyed the idea to the US envoy to the UN. The agency dismissed his proposal as “fantasy.” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made the comments […]
When Donald Trump began his presidential campaign no one believed he could possibly be elected. When David Cameron went to the country on EU membership, he could not imagine ‘Remain’ losing. So it was with Theresa May. Ahead in the polls by 21 points she sought an unassailable majority. Whatever the reasons — and there are many — she[Read More...]
RSS and its off springs are master conspirators. In fact, RSS as fountain head of the Hindutva politicsis a gurukul of teaching the art of how to conspire and where to execute the conspiracies. När jag växte upp på 80-talet fanns det varken internet eller smartphones. Serietidningar var stort och vi fantiserade om att bli superhjältar. Serietidningarna förmedlade också värderingar – demokratin måste försvaras mot onda galningar som vill ta över världen.

The entertainment reality show got another instalment on Thursday with the testimony of former FBI director James Comey before members of the Senate intelligence committee. The various birds of prey wishing to find smoking carrion were left only partially satisfied. The Republicans were left confused, and the right wing media felt that Trump had been exonerated. There was something for everyone.
(RPI) — Despite his opposition to surveillance during the campaign, Trump has flip-flopped once again and now supports the surveillance state.
US proposed legislation – Palestinian International Terrorism Support Prevention Act of 2017 – threatening to sanction Qatar for its support of the so-called “Palestinian terror” was sponsored by 10 lawmakers who received more than $1m over the last 18 months from lobbyists and groups linked to Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, Al Jazeera reported Friday. Terrorists are often sold on the idea that they could be heroes, so Suleiman Bakhit came up with a creative way to fight this myth. The Jordanian social entrepreneur and comic book author has created a set of stories for young Arab Muslims that offer an alternative narrative to extremist ideologies.
By M K Bhadrakumar | Indian Punchline | June 11, 2017 Four days have passed since the terrorist strikes in Tehran but Iran has not retaliated with any “surgical strike” against Saudi Arabia – and, typically, there isn’t going to be any. The political leadership pointed the accusing finger at Saudi Arabia, US and Israel. […]
A debate between father and son T.R. Malthus’ “Essay on The Principle of Population”, the first edition of which was published in 1798, was one of the the first systematic studies of the problem of population in relation to resources. Earlier discussions of the problem had been published by Boterro in Italy, Robert Wallace in England, and Benjamin[Read More...]
A review of a documentary on John Coltrane reminded me that the iconic jazz musician died on the same day that the Newark Riots officially ended. I trust that the reader knows why I’m using italics here; fact is, the trauma of those riots — fifty years old as of 2017 — never went away. Definitely not for me, as I knew colleagues[Read More...]

This morning your smart phone alarm went off 10 minutes earlier than usual. The alarm is tailored to your morning routine, which is monitored by your smart watch. It takes into account the weather forecast, the day of the week, as well as the fact that you went to bed late last night. Your phone buzzes again – it’s time to leave, if you want to catch the bus.
By the time Manuel Noriega died on May 29, 2017, the “ousted dictator” or “Panamanian strongman” had long since taken up residency in the proverbial dustbin of history. He hadn’t been useful or “trending” for decades and was thus relegated to virtual invisibility. Even those who vaguely remembered him may have already presumed him dead — a pre-Internet relic without a[Read More...]
Press Club of India is normally an empty space unless a few of those, who don’t have enough resources to pay at the India International Center or India Habitat Center or some Five Star hotels, do organize some events of public concern, but this week, it has a galaxy of journalists who might have forgotten the address of the[Read More...]
With many people suspecting that Jeremy Corbyn could become Britain’s Prime Minister sooner rather than later, people ought to be considering how this might impact Julian Assange.
With Sweden dropping its investigation against the Wikileaks founder, Britain remains the last major hurdle in the path of Assange’s ability to travel to Ecuador whose government has granted him asylum.
The current British regime has threatened Assange with arrest if he leaves the embassy for the comparatively minor charge of skipping out on his old bail conditions.

The name Sotirios “Sam” Panopoulos is not necessarily a household name, but his most famous invention is now enjoyed across the globe. Panopoulos is credited as the man who invented the pineapple pizza, sometimes known as the Hawaiian Pizza as pineapple is an indigenous fruit of Hawaii.
His invention was fist tested at a restaurant he opened in Canada before it became a favourite across the world.
Sotirios “Sam” Panopoulos was born in the small southern Greek village of Vourvoura in 1934 before emigrating to Canada in 1954.
The system of transferring fine art suffers from great opacity that makes it difficult to track original works. Transaction records are usually paper-based, which exposes them to a plethora of risks – they can be easily lost, destroyed, altered, or stolen. Luckily, Blockchain is particularly fit to solve these issues.

A recent article published in the Countercurrents.org by Lalita Ramdas titled ‘Service Brats, Identity and Nationalism’ raised some crucial issues through the comments by honorable serving/retired army personnel. Britain’s recent election makes for an insightful case study of western hypocrisy. Because Britain’s ruling neo-con Conservative party (in reality a neo-liberal party with a misleading name) did not win enough votes to form a government on its own. Instead, it will have to rely on the support of the openly sectarian Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) from Northern Ireland. For the record, I would be equally opposed to a UK government relying on the support of openly sectarian Catholic parties from Northern Ireland.
Please come out strongly against this illegal ban on cattle slaughter. Kindly translate your verbal assurances to concrete actions. Undertake a padyatra from Kashmir to Kanyakumari against the illegal, divisive law and uphold the secular value that the Congress professes.
Lately we’ve been witnessing an ever increasing number of reports and non-conspiratorial facts that expose an alliance that exists between Western liberals and jihadists. It’s hardly a secret that in Libya NATO fought a war on behalf of al-Qaeda and other radical groups to topple the legitimate government of what used to be the most prosperous and stable African state.
After months of contradictory reports stating that the eldest son of former Libyan revolutionary leader Muammar Gaddafi had been released, today, the terrorist group that had been holding him has confirmed his release.
Thomas Henry Horan joins Our Interesting Times to discuss his research on the notorious "Zodiac Killer" murders. We talk about the evidence that Zodiac was a hoax perpetrated by corrupt police officials and sensationalist newspapers. Later we discuss why perhaps the serial killer meme was used to obstruct justice and cover up systemic political corruption that extends from the Napa Valley in California to the halls of imperial power in Washington DC.

Yesterday, Reuters broke a story calming that the US has agreed to a Philippine request to assist Philippines in the war against ISIS, a story confirmed by both a military spokesman for Philippines and the United States. The story has now been directly contradicted by Philippines President Duterte, also according to Reuters. Duterte claims that he “never approached U.S”.
Duterte further stated,
“I am not aware of that (any request for US assistance) until they (US forces) arrived”.

The Serbian Royal Academy of Scientists and Artists has put together a legal team in order to sue NATO in an international court for crimes against humanity.
The lawsuit relates to NATO using depleted uranium during its illegal war on the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Serbia being the largest part of the now destroyed state.
When Gulf Arab powers announced on June 5 that they were severing diplomatic ties with Qatar over its ties to terrorists, the message was clear: get in line with regional policies, or pay the price. Nearly a week later, Qatar appears in no hurry to comply. And it is the incoherence of US President Donald Trump’s foreign policy that is perpetuating the rift.
Pearse Redmond joins us to discuss the TV series Billions, which mixes elements of legal thrillers, human drama, sexual fetishes, 9/11 insider trading and deep politics. We examine the characters in the film and how they are metaphors for the philosophical conflict at the heart of American politics between individual free will and the need for government as a restricting force. In short, Axe represents Ayn Rand and Chuck represents James Madison.
It is not all that often that something happens that seems to conveniently bring together so many of the different subjects I’ve been talking about recently. In this case, concerning Theresa May and the DUP, this article manages to string together multiple subjects I’ve been posting about previously, including false-flag terrorism, MI5 and state collusion […]
MI5, the so-called domestic security agency of the UK, has a self-styled image of being one of the best security, monitoring and surveillance agencies of any in the world. The British rarely do modesty. After all, they feel the need to insert in their official country title «Great» Britain.

For this writer, one of the more astonishing aspects of last Thursday’s live coverage of the election in the United Kingdom was the lack of reference to the violent attacks, deemed terrorist and ISIS inspired, over the last three months.
