“Thy Brother’s Blood Crieth”
All her corn-fields rippled in the sunshine,
All her lovely vines, sweets-laden, bowed;
Yet some weeks to harvest and to vintage:
When, as one man’s hand, a cloud

How did Donald Trump defy all the pollsters, the pundits, and the Twitterverse “experts” and take the White House? According to the Democrats, it was all a Russian plot – Kremlin-directed Twitter “bots” spread “misinformation” and “fake news,” Russian hackers stole the DNC’s emails, and this deprived Hillary Clinton of her rightful place as President … Continue reading "Anti-Interventionist Voters Elected Trump"
The United States is at war in Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Libya, Yemen, and possibly soon in Iran as well. Donald Trump has also sided with Saudi Arabia in its bloodless conflict with Qatar. The Saudi Arabia-Qatar standoff is no less serious than the other hot wars. The two countries are extremely wealthy and influential in … Continue reading "Trump: Toward War in the Middle East"

With the failure of the Democratic establishment, the crisis of liberal democracy is now seized by a new rise of power. The US empire with Trump as commander-in-chief has renewed its vow toward colonial domination. With nationalism and militarism in full swing, Trump’s America aims to radically alter the future of this country. His campaign … Continue reading "Moral Injury of War: The Invisible Wound of Empire"
Frederick Douglass was born in Maryland on February 20th-- my birthday too, but 1818-- and a slave. He taught himself to read and write-- writing later that "knowledge is the pathway from slavery to freedom." He escaped from Maryland at the age of 20 and went immediately to New York and then to New Bedford, Massachusetts. He became a preacher, a powerful orator and one of the country's foremost abolitionists. He became a national figure in 1845 with the publication of his first autobiography, Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, An American Slave, a best seller.
In 1932, Sigmund Freud and Albert Einstein conducted a correspondence subsequently published under the title ‘Why War?’ See ‘Why War: Einstein and Freud’s Little-Known Correspondence on Violence, Peace, and Human Nature’. In many ways, this dialogue between two giants of the 20th century is symbolic of the effort made by many humans to understand that perplexing and incredibly damaging[Read More...]
A week ago, I was eating lunch and turned on the TV. (Sometimes I don’t know the reason that I bother since so much is disturbing to view on the television, such as murders, car thefts, nightclub shootings, wars, rapes and so on, along with nonsense programs.) Yet I did so anyway and saw part of a show about a[Read More...]
By Tim Hayward | July 4, 2017 The OPCW fact finding mission (FFM) has now reported on the chemical incident in Khan Sheikhoun, Syria, in April 2017. Although heavily trailed in previews, by Bellingcat and others, as presenting virtually a smoking gun implicating the Syrian government, the report itself is so hedged with caveats that […]
There has been much disingenuous criticism of those, like me, who question why the western corporate media have studiously ignored the latest investigation by renowned journalist Seymour Hersh on Syria. Hersh had to publish his piece in a German newspaper, Welt am Sonntag, after the entire US and UK media rejected his article. There has still been no mention of[Read More...]

Les médias mainstream américains ont assumé le rôle de protéger les Américains de points de vue alternatifs, ce qui explique pourquoi les longues interviews d’Oliver Stone avec Vladimir Poutine inquiètent tant.
Hours after Russia and China both stated that it is the objective of both countries to freeze the North Korean nuclear programme and also to freeze joint military drills between South Korea and the United States, the United States and South Korea did the complete opposite of the wishes of two of the three world super-powers and the only countries which neighbour the Korean peninsula.
The US and South Korea have just launched several surface-to-air missiles from South Korean territory which landed in international waters.

One of the most interesting revelations from President Assad’s visit last week to Russia’s Khmeimim air base in Syria is that the Russians have deployed one of their most unusual weapons systems there: the BMPT-72 Terminator.
Here is a picture of President Assad looking at this remarkable machine
-by NoahMost of us, at one time or another, have had that one uber-obnoxious family that lived next door or right down the street. Their arrogance, self-proclaimed entitlement, and, loudmouth screaming boorishness is legendary in the neighborhood. Such families are known for acting like a pack of untrainable chimps or dogs that, may wear some human clothing, but lack any knowledge about how to live and behave in a human community.
Both the US and Russia say that the Hwasong-14 missile which was launched today is of intermediate range, and is not as North Korea claims an intercontinental ballistic missile (“ICBM”). It seems that whilst the missile can cover all of Alaska it does not have the range to reach the rest of the continental United States.

It is supposed to be a day more Americans to celebrate, but knowing real history and not the bullshit that has filled so many minds, I know that the concept of true independence has alluded the US.....Lets face some facts here...

(TFC) — It’s the Fourth of July. The most American of days. If you left your home today or scrolled your social media accounts, you undoubtedly saw disrespect towards the American flag. It isn’t a new expression of speech, but it is certainly more widespread today than in years past. So the question arises: how can you make people respect the flag?

Peace talks for Cyprus have faced a grave setback after Turkey’s Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu explicitly ruled out withdrawing Turkish troops from Cyprus, a sovereign state that Turkey has partly occupied since 1974.
Cavusoglu called the removal of Turkish troops a “non-starter” and told groups representing Greek Cypriots to “wake-up” if they thought that such an option would be realistic.
Most Greek Cypriot activists continue to demand the full withdrawal of Turkish troops from Cyprus as conditions for reunification.
Peace talks continue in Geneva.
Contrary to its colloquial name, the so-called Iran Deal of 2015 was scarcely about Iran in respect of its aims or origins.
The real reason that the deal came about was because the great world powers in addition to the EU did not actually want a war with Iran.
