If kids got raped by clowns as often as kids get raped by preachers it would be against the law to take your kid to the circus.- Dan Savage
Lots of people wonder why or how the Republican Jesus evangelist crowd can continue and continue to so fervently support Donald Trump and the overt evil of his presidency. I don't. Last Sunday, I wrote about a Rick Wiles, major televangelist and friend of Trump (he even has White House press credentials) who says that the impeachment hearings are part of a, in his words, "Jew coup." We all know Trump would love to say that publicly himself, and he may yet. Then, there's the creepy pastor featured in tonight's meme. Like Rick Wiles, Alabama televangelist Acton Bowen also has a large following of devoted Christian fans. Bowen was a chaplain for the 2012 Olympics and has been a frequent and popular contributor to FOX "News." His TV show is viewable everywhere here in the United States and it has a global reach. His following numbers in the millions and his specialty has been youth ministries.Bowen has, as you can see, pled guilty to 28 counts of raping and sexually assaulting children between the ages of 12 and 16. While Trump hasn't pled guilty to any instances of rape or pedophilia, rumors do abound and he has openly admitted, proudly, in fact, that he loves to walk into dressing rooms while underage models in his Miss Teen pageants are in a state of undress. Keep in mind that Trump also endorsed Judge Roy Moore for a seat in the United States Senate. Moore, I might add, is also from Alabama. Draw your own conclusions. So, at least Republican Christians are consistent. You can't expect people who gravitate to anti-Semites and pedophiles to feel any differently about Trump than they do about Wiles and Bowen. Love one. Love all. Birds of a feather and all that. None of this is to say that all Trump voters are anti-Semites and/or pedophiles, but you can definitely say that all Trump voters are OK with it.Pastor Bowen is facing 99 years in prison on the charges mentioned but he also faces similar charges in two Florida counties.
