NORAD to conduct exercise flights over Marion / Toledo OH area Today (4.17.14)

Cannot forget that NORAD was involved in similar drills, both before and during the morning of Sept 11th 2001.  As Was the US Military.

MARION OH  (Marion Star)— The North American Aerospace Defense Command will practice intercept and identification procedures between noon and 2 p.m. Thursday over northern Ohio.
The flights are scheduled to take place between Marion and Toledo. People in the area may hear or see NORAD-controlled fighter jets in close proximity to a military or military contracted aircraft, which will be playing the role of an aircraft of interest.
Although they are scheduled for the afternoon, the flights could be delayed or canceled by weather.
To test responses, systems and equipment, NORAD regularly conducts exercises with a variety of scenarios, including airspace restriction violations, hijackings and responses to unknown aircraft.
NORAD has conducted exercise flights of this nature throughout Canada and the U.S. since the start of Operation Noble Eagle, the command’s response to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
NORAD is the binational command that provides maritime warning, aerospace warning and aerospace control for Canada and the U.S.
