The fight to organize fast food workers, improve working conditions, and raise the minimum wage has evolved from a few isolated protests to a bona fide movement in cities across the United States.
Walking to the subway after a long day of work I, like most New Yorkers, was busy putting in my headphones to drown out the cacophony of noise from construction equipment, buses whizzing by on Broadway, and the grinding sound of trains lumbering down their metal tracks beneath my feet.
