Yulia Skripal

Poison Gas: Weapon of Choice for “False News”

Poison gas is not only deadly, it often provokes a slow suffocating death. That, perpetrated on innocent children, is particularly cruel. But when such poison gas attacks are mere false flags, or by the new term, “false news”, and are used to provoke war, perhaps an all annihilating war, then humanity has turned to what it never should have become – a lowly-lowly herd of brainless zombies. Is that what we have become – brainless, greedy, selfish beings, no sense of solidarity, no respect for other beings; I am not even talking about humans, but any living being.

Russian Embassy doubts statement released by UK police was indeed Yulia Skripal’s

RT | April 12, 2018 The statement released by UK police on behalf of Yulia Skripal appears to be designed to cut her off from outside contact, the Russian Embassy in the UK says. The mission is calling for verification that the statement is genuine. Scotland Yard earlier issued a statement that was apparently from […]

Yulia Skripal asks for no one else to speak on her behalf (except Scotland Yard)

Yesterday Yulia Skripal issued a statement via British police, where she has refused contact with the Russian Embassy and her Moscow-based cousin, Viktoria.
In the statement read by Scotland Yard, Yulia allegedly asks for no one else to speak on her behalf (except Scotland Yard), and said that despite leaving Salisbury hospital on Monday, she is “still suffering with the effects of the nerve agent used against us,” adding that her father remains “seriously ill.”

As is often the way, the Russians – caught by surprise by a crisis that seemed to come out of nowhere – initially responded reactively.
However as the weeks have passed they have gradually found their footing, and are now starting to score points.

Is Sergey Skripal also recovering? More questions about the Skripal case following Yulia Skripal’s strange call

The latest bizarre twist in the Skripal case came earlier today in the form of remarkable transcript Viktoria Skripal has provided of what she claims is a telephone conversation she has had with Yulia Skripal, who is currently in Salisbury hospital recovering from the Novichok attack.
My colleague Vladimir Rodzianko has set out this transcript in full.

The Skripal case and the misuse of ‘intelligence’

The events of the last few days in the Skripal case provide an object lesson of why in criminal investigations the rules of due process should always be adhered to.  The reason the British now find themselves in difficulties is because they have not adhered to them.
This despite the fact that – as they all too often like to remind us – it was the British themselves who largely created them.
