Assange is facing one of the most disturbing confections put together by any state that claims itself to be free. Should this stratagem work, the publisher will find himself facing the legal proceedings of a country that boasts of having a free press amendment but is keen on excluding him from it. What is even more troubling is the desire to expand the tent of culpability, one that will include press outlets and those who disseminate classified information.

Trump Commutes Sentence of Roger Stone, Says Trial Was Based on a ‘Hoax’

Last night President Donald Trump commuted the sentence of former advisor Roger Stone. 
Stone was due to report to prison to serve 40 months for process crimes relating to the collapsed Mueller probe into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 US election.
The White House confirmed that Stone’s sentence would be commuted  and added that he was a victim of the Democrat Party and Intelligence Community’s long-running Russiagate “hoax.”
