Hard To Believe, But Watergate Teaches Us That There's No Reason To Give Up Hope For An Impeachment

Ultimately, impeachment is a political act. If there really is an anti-Trump/anti-Ryan tsunami in 2018, the Democrats will win back the House and probably impeach Trump-- even if it means forcing Pelosi and Hoyer, who oppose any such thing, to step down as leaders. Impeachment is like an indictment; there still has to be a trial in the Senate. And 66 votes to convict.

Russia-gate Is No Watergate or Iran-Contra

In this Wednesday, July 16, 2014 photo, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin motions to blow a kiss to journalists as he leaves the Itamaraty Palace after the BRICS Summit in Brasilia, Brazil.
Russia-gate, the sprawling investigation into whether Russia meddled in last year’s U.S. election, is often compared to the two big political scandals of the latter half of the Twentieth Century, Watergate and Iran-Contra. Sometimes you even hear that Russia-gate is “bigger than Watergate.”

Russia is interfering in US foreign policy, not US domestic policy

Many had hoped that the firing of former FBI director James Comey would bring an end to the disgrace of ‘Russiagate’.
Russiagate was quite possibly the biggest canard in recent American political history. Take for example actual US political and policy scandals starting with the biggest.

What Connects Jack Valenti, E Howard Hunt and The Godfather? - Spy Culture

On the face of it former CIA officer, Watergate burglar and confessed JFK assassin E Howard Hunt shouldn't have had much to do with former MPAA president Jack Valenti. They both served in WW2 (Hunt in the OSS, Valenti in the Army Air Forces) and both died in 2007. They may both have been present at the John Kennedy assassination.
