Democrats are against the wall because the left gains votes from immigrants. There are an estimated 22-million illegal aliens in the US, and Republican politicians also welcome immigrants because they provide cheap labor for their corporate donors.

Nancy Pelosi said that Trump's proposed border wall was a "manhood issue."  However, Pelosi lives in a prestigious neighborhood in SF behind a guarded gate.  Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) wrote the 'Keep Families Together Act' bill, which critics say is a bill for open borders. 

Members of her staff acknowledged that she is hiding her leftist agenda before the midterms because she is trying to appeal to moderates and pro-Trumpers.  Meanwhile, she supports impeaching President Trump, abortion and DACA.  She is against Trump's border security wall.

The Center for Immigration Studies reports that there are an estimated 300,000 births by illegal aliens each year that cost to American taxpayers $2.4 billion! The average cost of a birth is $12,000, and two-thirds of illegal aliens use taxpayer-funded welfare because they lack insurance.

The President can unilaterally fund the Wall without Congress on the basis of being the Commander in Chief of the military, which exists to defend the nation. Defense of the nation it the purpose of the wall.

The ranch owner has has repeatedly warned the government not to leave long stretches of the southwest border secured by nothing more than a barbed-wire fence. [In spite of brave talk in Washington DC about stopping illegal immigration, the government has done nothing to stop this armed invasion. Why do we have soldiers in over a hundred countries in the world but none at the Chilton ranch?]

Ann Coulter says defending US borders is the #1 job of the Commander in Chief, and that is most of what the military did for the first 100 years. "We weren’t going around remaking the rest of the world. It was the military building forts on our border. Defending American borders is the number one job of the Commander in Chief."
