The unsayable in Britain’s general election campaign is this: The causes of the Manchester atrocity, in which 22 mostly young people were murdered by a jihadist, are being suppressed to protect the secrets of British foreign policy.

In the wake of the massacre in Manchester, people rightly warn against blaming the entire Muslim community in Britain and the world. Certainly one of the aims of those who carry out such atrocities is to provoke the communal punishment of all Muslims, thereby alienating a portion of them who will then become open to recruitment by Isis and al-Qaeda clones.
In a post for the Strategic Culture Foundation entitled “We Know What Inspired the Manchester Attack, We Just Won’t Admit It” by Patrick Cockburn, Saudi Arabian Wahhabism is cited as the cause for ‘Islamic inspired’ terrorist attacks that have plagued Europe and the US ever since 9-11.
The fact that POTUS Trump went to Saudi Arabia and proceeded to accuse Iran, a Shia state, for the the wave of terrorism across the globe was a complete lie.
Historians might scratch their heads a long time to figure out when and why it happened, but by the time King Donald was doing the Arabian sword dance and rubbing King Salman’s magic lantern, he was gone. Well, he was just permanently absent, as if the little lucidity that remained had been switched off.
After a devastating terrorist atrocity, people are understandably shaken, frightened and confused. Anger, sadness and fear are what terrorists seek to inspire and it is no surprise that when a bomb successfully kills and disfigures innocent civilians, the living are fraught with emotion. This cannot be changed for the same reason that human nature cannot ever be changed.
However, some try to change it using self-righteous platitudes which they themselves would likely not believe if they or someone they knew was the victim of a terrorist atrocity.
Last night, a deadly and tragic terrorist attack claimed the lives of 22 people, many who were very young, at Britain’s Manchester Arena. Over 59 are currently reported injured. These numbers may yet rise.
The attack was almost certainly ISIS inspired as it had all the hallmarks of such an attack. For those mourning the dead, whether it was a direct ‘order’ given from Raqqa or more likely a crazed ISIS inspired fanatic with a home-made explosive, this devilish detail will matter little.
Police say that the attack was carried out by a lone suicide bomber.
Richard Nixon is thought to have said, “We are all Keynesians now”. At the end of the Cold War Francis Fukuyama implied, ‘We are all Americans now’. Today, Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu more or less said, “We are all Wahhabists now”.
As someone with experience of writing about Russian affairs I have long since come to realise that there is little about the pathological hostility to Russia of so many elite people in the West is grounded in reality.
Prior to 9/11, most Americans thought and cared little about the Islamic world. Prior to the scandal of Iran issuing a fatwa on the London based author Salman Rushdie in 1989, that number was even less.
But when the twin towers of the World Trade Center came crashing down, that all changed. America had a new enemy, but the problem was that at first, most Americans were not sure who that enemy was.
Shortly after 9/11, the mainstream media told the public that the enemy were Muslims and shortly thereafter, that metamorphosed into all of Islam.
