This week British journalist Vanessa Beeley was recognized by the REAL Syria Civil Defence and Fire Brigade for her work in helping to raise awareness about their organisation internationally.

Lets be clear, this isn’t an attack on the tragic death of young Alan Kurdi or 80 year old Vanessa Redgrave, member of the Redgrave acting dynasty and British acting aristocracy; this is another reminder of the ‘selective moral outrage’ we see time and time again surrounding the refugee crisis influx into Europe and above all, the war on Syria.

An examination of a White Helmets video, conducted by Swedish medical doctors, specialists in various fields, including paediatrics, have revealed that the life-saving procedures seen in the film are incorrect – in fact life-threatening – or simply fake, including simulated emergency resuscitation techniques being used on already lifeless children.
In 2003, George W. Bush and Anthony Blair sold their illegal war to a frothing mainstream media on the basis that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction (lie), Iraqis wanted the West liberate them from their government (lie…even among Saddam opponents), Iraq was a hotbed of terrorism (outrageous lie) and Iraq directly threatened world stability (insane lie).
Many people who opposed the war and its accompanying lies carried placards with slogans including, ‘No blood for oil’, ‘Not in my name’, ‘Bush lied Iraqis died’ and so on.
Tonight the excellent Vanessa Beeley gave another important and crucial talk on Syria - 'Aleppo - Fall or Liberation?'. The implicit question in the title alluded to gulf between the western corporate media's interpretation and reporting of events in East Aleppo during December 2016 and the reality on the ground as seen by Vanessa and other independent witnesses, including the Reverend Andrew Ashdown, who were there to see first hand the liberation of the thousands of civilians held captive for over four years.
