Briefly: Fighting continues on in Syria, in what still looks to be a limited operation to gain unfettered access to important highways.  The M4 and M5.  Not going to rehash the reasons passage via these main routes are absolutely necessary for Syria.Syria had taken some strategic areas prior to the Russian declared ceasefire. But they lost one strategic town to HTS.

Since WW II, the US waged wars of aggression against nations threatening no one, the highest of high crimes gone unpunished.
From North Korea in the early 1950s to what’s ongoing endlessly post-9/11, the US attacked nations unwilling to subordinate their sovereign rights affirmed under international law to its interests.
Longstanding US plans call for regime change in Iran and Syria for this reason, in a part of the world with around two-thirds known oil reserves — why it’s strategically important.

The Trump administration has shot itself so many times in the foot, it’s a wonder it is still able to stand. Time and again, whether to do with Venezuela, Russia, China, Europe, Iran or the rest of the world, Washington keeps blowing holes in its own credibility and ultimately longevity as a global power. Is the Trump administration sadomasochist or just plain stupid?

Treaties are important partly because they often mark the end of a period of conflict.
The honoring of treaties has been described by many eminent men and women throughout history as a sacred undertaking requiring also good faith by each party for their proper enforcement; a matter of, not least, honour.

A federal grand jury has announced 17 additional charges under the Espionage Act against WikiLeaks publisher Julian Assange, who is currently in a UK jail awaiting an extradition hearing.
The new indictment, made public on Thursday, relates to US documents WikiLeaks published in 2010, and alleges Assange revealed the names of individuals who were working with the US government, thus endangering their lives.

A growing number of House Democrats are calling on Speaker Nancy Pelosi to launch an impeachment inquiry against President Trump.

Think about how disturbed the US is with Turkey's purchase of the s-400. The pipeline deals. Banking/trade deals. All made between Turkey and Russia. The threat to NATO's stability... since Turkey and Russia have been working together. This subject was broached in today's earlier post:
