As of this month, the United States is deploying three of its aircraft carriers simultaneously to patrol the Pacific in what is designed to be a clear threat to China. Each carrier strike group comprises destroyers, aircraft and submarines. The U.S. has 11 aircraft carriers in total.
Meanwhile over 1,000 members of his ship’s crew have been diagnosed with COVID.

Maybe the Navy was just buying time but according to The Hill the service is not going to reinstate Capt. Brett Crozier after he lost command of the USS Roosevelt for emailing a plea for help amid COVID exposures to his ship in April.
Marquie Little, a black US Navy sailor on the George H.W. Bush aircraft carrier, claimed to be the target of racial slurs written on his bed, but later it was learned that Little had staged the slurs against himself. Little was not punished for this action but, instead, received counseling. Even though the crew had nothing to do with Little's, attack, against himself, they, also, have bee forced to undergo sensitivity training against racism. [...]
