UN Agencies Back Asylum Rights of Central American Migrants in Exodus to US

Migrants from El Salvador embarking in the regional caravan, destined for the United States. UN agencies are providing food as well as asylum information for the hordes of people heading to America right now. The UN agencies assert the migrants’ right to be heard.
Working closely with Mexico, United Nations agencies are providing food and other necessities to thousands of migrants from Central America who are walking or riding in any vehicle they can find toward the United States. There, they are seeking asylum but face threats from the Trump administration.

The UN High Commissioner for Refugees Just Suspended Aid for 8,000 Syria Families in Lebanon

The UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Lebanon has suspended food rations and aid for 8,000 Syrian families, local activists said yesterday according to Syrian news agency Zaman Al-Wasl.
News agencies on the ground confirmed with officials that October would be the last month thousands of Syrians would be eligible to receive assistance from the World Food Programme, despite its low cost at less than $27 per person per month.
