The latest example of America’s racist police brutality problem was caught on camera in Minneapolis Monday, as Officer Derek Chauvin knelt on 46-year-old African-American George Floyd’s neck for over seven minutes until he passed out and died. In its headline on its website, Minneapolis police described the event as “man dies after medical incident during police interaction,” laundering themselves of any responsibility.

BARSTOW, CALIFORNIA — A California community is drawing increasing attention to the police killing of Diante “Butchie” Yarber, a 26-year-old black father of three who was shot to death as he sat inside his car in the parking lot of a Barstow Walmart on April 5.
In dramatic video filmed of the incident, which occurred in broad daylight, police can be heard rapidly spraying dozens of rounds  – well over 30 – at the car Yarber was driving, killing the young father and wounding his friends. No firearms were found inside the vehicle.

While the shooting death of Stephon Clark has made national headlines over the last two weeks, it is not the first questionable shooting the Sacramento, Calif., Police Department has had. It is just one in a long list of many questionable incidents or activities the department has been linked to.
Each and every time there is a police shooting that results in the death of the victim, there is a rush to dig up every bad thing the person ever did, starting from the day they were born. Why don’t we do this for police departments?

Days after a Dallas-area police officer shot and killed a black 15-year-old in the passenger seat of a car, the Texas Legislative Black Caucus and other lawmakers made an emotional plea to state leaders Thursday morning to act to prevent police shootings.

Late Friday, a single juror wrote Judge Clifton Newman that they could not vote to convict North Charleston, South Carolina police officer Michael Slager of either murder or manslaughter for his April execution-style fatal shooting of unarmed Walter Scott, raising the specter of a mistrial.
