BREAKING: Terrorists attack birthplace of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad

On 11 September, 1965, Bashar al-Assad was born. His father Hafez al-Assad became the Presidnet of Syria in 1970 and launched the reforms known as The Corrective Period, designed to alleviate the political turbulence of the 1960s.
Upon the death of Hafez in 2000, Bashar won his first Presidential election. He has continued to court the support of Syrians ever since.
Today, terrorists fired missiles at the city of Al-Qurdaha in northeastern Latakia, the birth place of al-Assad and home to many in his extended family.

PHILIPPINES: Military fight against ISIS almost won

Rodrigo Duterte’s decision to put his home island of Mindanao in southern Philippines under Martial Law has paid off in respect of a consolidated military victory against ISIS fighters.
Beginning in May of 2017, local fighters, augmented by some foreign terrorists laid siege to the Muslim majority city of Marawi on Mindanao.
Since then, Philippine troops have battled heavily armed ISIS fighters in the city while attempting to free as many hostages as possible.

BREAKING: Al-Qaeda/al-Nusra leader in Syria is killed

Abu Nasibah al-Tunisi of Tunisia has been killed during fighting in Syria’s Idlib Governorate. He had previously been the style-proclaimed emir/leader of Ha’yat Tahrir al-Sham, the al-Qaeda group in Syria which is still commonly referred to as the al-Nusra Front.
After being defeated in much of western Syria, including in the Battle of Aleppo which took place in December of 2016, Idlib remains one of the few areas in Syria where al-Qaeda has a notable presence although this too is fading fast.

CONFIRMED: US backed so-called ‘moderate rebels’ sold American weapons to ISIS

As various terrorist forces in Syria, including notorious al-Qaeda factions face total collapse, pockets of ISIS in Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor remain the biggest obstacle to the full liberation of Syrian territory.
In many cases foreign fighters and some Syrians who fought with terrorist groups have fled the country with Libya being a prime destination. Others have agreed to participate in government amnesty programs and have consequently laid down their arms. Others yet have atoned for their terrorist activities and pledged their loyal to government led anti-terrorist forces.

Turkish forces kill 43 PKK fighters in southeast Turkey in 7 days

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Turkish security forces have killed 43 fighters of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), banned in Turkey, within seven days, local media reported on Saturday, citing a statement of Turkish General Staff.
The PKK fighters were killed during counterterrorism operations conducted in the country’s southeastern provinces of Sirnak, Diyarbakir and Hakkari on August 17-24, the Yeni Safak newspaper reported.
The security forces reportedly managed to seize firearms and C4 explosives during the operation.

Russian Embassy warns citizens to be aware of abnormally high terror threat levels in UK

LONDON (Sputnik) – Russian embassy in London has reminded Russian citizens that the terror attack threat level in the United Kingdom remains high, and recommended to refrain from attending potentially dangerous public events, the embassy said Saturday in a statement.
“We remind the citizens about a serious terror attack threat level in the United Kingdom. Once again, we call on the citizens to be security-conscious and refrain from visiting public places,” the statement read.
