Syrian conflict

On Sunday evening an airstrike hit a paramilitary base in Eastern Syria, killing dozens of Iraqi fighters who were in Syria to combat Islamic State combatants. Hashed al-Shaabi fighters are allowed within Syria’s borders by the Assad government as their efforts help to cleanse the war torn Middle Eastern country of of radical terrorists.
A US official denied that the US coalition was not involved in the strike, but asserts that Israel was behind it. Israel, however, has refused to comment.

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad revealed in a recent interview with Iranian media al-Alam TV that attempts at achieving non military resolutions to conflicts inside Syria via reconciliation is being actively prevented by intervention from Israel and the US. He is adamant that the price demanded by the Americans, that of absolute US hegemony, is one that Syria will never pay.

A report recently emanated from the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) which is widely reported as confirming that both sarin and chlorine were utilized in an attack in the Hama province of Syria in March of 2017, prompting a military strike authorized by US President Donald J. Trump.

US President Donald Trump has agreed to resume funding for the supposed ‘humanitarian’ White Helmets group in Syria, which apparently has ties to radical jihadist terrorist organizations operating for the destabilization of Syria and the overthrow of the Assad regime, to the tune of $6.6 million.
Part of what makes the White Helmets so heroic in the opinion of the US State Department is the reality that they are considered offensive terrorist linked operatives and therefore may qualify as an opponent of the Syrian government and potential target of Russian airstrikes.

President Assad was just interviewed by an RT correspondent, wherein he stated that he wanted to liberate the entirety of Syria’s territory. Towards that end, he indicated that America was opposing this goal and backs the SDF against Assad, refusing to return Syrian territory as long as Assad remains in power. Assad declared that he would work with them as much as possible to achieve the liberation of Syrian territory through diplomacy, if possible, but where the SDF and American forces refuse to negotiate or compromise, that he would oust the Americans by force, if necessary.

As I’ve been commenting on America’s decline in influence, and the shifting of the poles of global power and influence, its been interesting to watch how these perspectives have been independently cropping up elsewhere. Lately, one of the most recent of these is a piece published by former American congressman Ron Paul at the Ron Paul Institute:

Russian Finance Minister and First Deputy Prime Minister, Anton Siluanov, has proposed using the European common currency in order to settle transactions between Russia and EU members, while speaking at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
As an example of the successful function of using national currencies in foreign trade, Siluanov pointed out that Russia is already doing this with it trading partners.
